Dear Friend,
Wikipedia defines “change” as the process of becoming different. Just like the change in the color of the leaves on a liquid amber tree this fall, a long time friend and colleague, Richard Emery, has joined Groundworks as our Custom Design Landscape Division manager. Richard began his career with Marina Water Gardens servicing and building ponds and water features. He then became a project manager for Statice Landscape, a CLCA award winning landscape contracting firm. In 1993, after Statice Landscaping went out of business, he obtained his C-27 Landscape Contractor’s license and shortly thereafter, received his C-29 Masonry Contractor’s license. In the near future, we will be highlighting some of Richard’s amazing projects. He has relocated swimming pools, constructed outdoor kitchens, decorative colonnades, structures as well as custom outdoor rooms with all of the bells and whistles (flat screen TV, custom audio system, chimney, ceiling heaters, recessed lighting, mosaic artwork in the flooring tile, etc.) We are excited to be associated with such a talented artisan.
I cannot say this enough, “Thank you! Thank you!” Thank you for your continued business and referrals! I am also very grateful to our super staff! We are blessed to have such dedicated crews, managers and office staff that produce such wonderful work.
Congratulations to Alfonso for winning the 3rd quarter grand prize; a 26” LCD TV, to Javier and Jose Reyes for winning the gift cards. We are truly seeing a positive change from our crews. Please keep the comments, emails, phone calls coming if your crew is doing a fantastic job or just going out of their way to do something to help someone.
Mimi says that the cyclamens, pansies, violas, snap dragons, mums, primroses, stocks and other cool season flowers are readily available at the growers now.
Certified Arborist, Martin J. van Zeyl, says to please call him if you would like to have your trees assessed to make sure that they are safe and healthy for any upcoming rain and wind storms. Martin personally supervises our crews to make sure that we protect our client’s property and the safety of our employees. We are coming into the short time window when pine, eucalyptus and cedar trees should be pruned. Recently, we have seen many trees that have fallen over. Have Martin feed your trees to help build a strong and healthy root structure.
We will be scheduling our quarterly low voltage lighting maintenance in the next month. Low voltage lighting adds safety around steps, edges of walkways and driveways. The new LED technology is awesome!
Until next month, we will be “continuing the Japanese American tradition”!
